  The Makings of Saigon Cook....

Both children of Vietnamese refugees, my husband and I were similarly raised by the kitchen counter, watching our respective mothers cook fresh and vibrant Vietnamese dinners.

Our relationship with our parents consisted of very few words. However, like so many others in our culture, parental love was communicated through daily labour and sacrifice. 

We watched our mothers work tirelessly in the kitchen, spending days perfecting the nourishing, refreshing, and comforting bone broth, free from impurities, that we all know as Phở'. It was a soul-warming household staple which filled our bodies with nutrients and made our house a home.

Admittedly, we had taken for granted the labour and love that phở' had represented in our lives…until we became parents ourselves.

We set about replicating our Mum's phở' with a modern twist, incorporating modern cooking methods and sourcing local and sustainable produce. After months of testing and tasting, and testing and tasting some more… Saigon Cook was born 🍜.

With Saigon Cook, now you get to experience authentic Vietnamese food that has passed down from generation to generation, so that you can be a Saigon Cook and make your own delicious phở at home - with fresh ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, you’ll be eating our Mum’s phở' in under 10 minutes!
